2023 sailing season in review:

The sailing experience at the pond was more on the "back to normal" pace. The wind played its usual games of hide and seek but all in all, we had good participation for most weekly races with 5 to 10 boats on the line fairly regularly.

The Green Mountain Regattas went off fairly smoothly and from responses, all had a great time. We had a good turnout for the J class and EC12 class in the GM regattas. We had to cancel the Whirlwinds regatta due to no participanting skippers. Fortunately, we were again able to host one of everyone's favorite events, the CanAm Challenge regattaThe Results for all Regattas can be found under our Regattas Tab.

Regattas for 2024: Our three annual Regattas, Green Mountain J Class, Green Mountain EC12 and CanAm, are scheduled. The dates for each of the regattas are posted below. These dates will also be posted on the AMYA's Regatta page.

 Club Sailing and Racing Information:

Our club isn't all about Mon. and Wed. Soling racing. As noted above, our club hosts the annual, Green Mountain Regattas and the CanAm Challenge Regatta. It takes many people to manage these  events. we encourage all sailors to get involved on the management side of things as we can always use extra help to carry out successful regattas and as a bonus, by learning what goes into managing a regatta and observing other competitors, can help sailors improve their own perspective of the racing experience.

For the 2023 year we did not keep score as an experiment. But, due to a general conscientious, we have decided to reinstate scoring

for the 2024 season. It's a great way to monitor one's progress.

For all racing results and season standings go to our "Club Racinging" tab.

  Club News:

Our club, like most others, went through through some challenging times during and immediately following Covid. The 2023 Season was a great improvement with attendence numbers fairly consistent around 8 to 10 skippers for each sailing day. We anicipate a strong participation for the 2024 Season. The Pond is in great shape and with our annual Spring Work Day in late April, we will be ready fore another great season of Club Racing and our 3 annual Regattas. Thank You to the regular club members who are reliable every year, to help keep our pond and facilities in great condition. Special thanks to Bruce and his staff for the exceptional mainenance of the grounds and the hospitality of  this venue and its great location for the club members to use for our enjoyment.

Pond Scum:

"Ice Out" has occurred this year earlier than ussual. But, mother nature keeps thowing this white stuff

at us so it looks like sailing is still a bit in the future. As soo as the shore line dries and footing is safe,

the pond will be open for early pre-season sailing.
